Martin Solvieg – Ready To Go

Following on from his hit single ‘Hello’ featuring one of Dragonette, Frenchman Martin Solvieg returns! Featuring the vocals of Kele Okereke (from Bloc Party), I believe this song will be just as big ! The video is pretty amazing as well, and he’s once again featured a massive French sports event to shoot at (the other being the Roland Garros French Open tennis tournament for “Hello”).

Avicii – Levels (ID)

Tim Bergling (A.K.A “Avicii” , “Tom Hangs” and “Tim Berg”) is only 22 years old, yet he’s managed to become one of the best Progressive House producers out there at the moment. You can guarantee any track by him will have uplifting and catchy melodies, and this song is no exception. Like last year’s Bromance , I think Levels (ID) will need to be turned into a full vocal track for it to become a chart success , but it’s already one of my songs of the summer !

My Top 5 [Alternative] Christmas Songs!

Geraldine McQueen – Once Upon A Christmas Song

She’s got the Pop Factor (… and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice)! Yes it’s Peter Kay in drag miming (well does he ever sing?) while Gary Barlow sings this pretty catchy song! A #5 hit in December 2005.

Fast Food Rockers – I Love Christmas

Before you say anything, yes I know these are the people responsible for The Fast Food Song, but as far as novelty Christmas songs go, I like it! Reached #25 in December 2003.

Weird Al Yankovic – The Night Santa Went Crazy

Not much to say, just watch!

Gunther – Christmas Song

Yes, it’s cheesy.

Hotpantz – One For Christmas

Ah what can I say about this song; cheesy, catchy and full of innuendo!

Tim Berg – Bromance (Aviciis Arena Mix)

One of the best videos I’ve seen in a love time and a brilliant summer song! Signed to Data with a vocal version- watch this space!

Alex Gaudino – I’m In Love (I Wanna Do It)

Also signed to Data Records, the man behind top 10 UK hits Destination Calabria and Watch Out and the #35 song Little Love returns with a new vocal version of the original which Scott Mills has been playing on his Floorfillers show for a while now! I think this song is going to be more popular that the song above as the woman sounds a lot like Rihanna!

Website Of The Day ! – Stupid Fight

Stupid Fight!
From The Website:
What’s this all about?
FACT: A lot of people on Twitter are stupid. Many of these people follow celebrities and try to send them messages. But which celebrity’s fans are most stupid? It’s time to find out.
What do you mean by ‘stupid’?
Stupid Fight can’t go out and administer an intelligence test to each person that’s sending messages to a celebrity. So instead, it estimates based on several stupid indicators. Are they using twenty exclamation marks in a row? Do they endlessly use the abbreviation ‘OMG’? Do they seem incapable of working out where their Shift key is? These indicators have a strong correlation with the message, and its sender, being stupid.

All you have to do is enter two twitter usernames, press “Battle” and hey presto! For example, Stephen Fry’s fans are more stupid than David Mitchell’s

Feels Like Summer Is Almost Here! So Here Are Some Summery Tunes!

It’s bloody hot today. This has made me want to dig out songs which will really make it feel like I’m on a beach on a hot summer’s day, even if I’m currently at home writing this..

R.I.O – Shine On

R.I.O is a German dance project from the producers Manuel Reuter (Manian) and Yann Pfeiffer (Yanou) who produced DJ Sammy’s #1 song “Heaven” from 2002. They’re more populaly known as the production team behind Cascada !

Sunfreakz feat. Andrea Britton – Counting Down The Days

Only a minor hit (#37) in July 2007. I believe it’s because they released the crappy Axwell remix as the lead single, rather than this original version..

Jason Nevins presents U.K.N.Y feat. Holly James – I’m In Heaven

From 2003, reached #9 in the UK charts [samplying Michael Jackson - "Human Nature"]

The Sketch Show

Originally airing on ITV between 2001 and 2003, this show features Lee Mack and Tim Vine (Not Going Out) and Ronni Ancona (Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression). Ricky Gervais even wrote sketches for the program!

Sadly only the first series was released onto DVD (in Australia, although it can be easily found on eBay), which is a real shame because there are so many laugh out loud moments!  This BAFTA winning show featured mostly short sketches with quick-fire gags, which is very much the comic stand up style that both Lee and Tim perform.
Here’s one of their most famous sketches!!

I’ve recently encountered B3ta.com thanks to their satirical mock election propaganda , and the following really funny mocked-up user-submitted photos come courtesy of their  Opposite Signs section!

The following come from James Bond On A Shoestring. Apparently the studios that are making Bond 23 are in financial difficulty you see.. Let’s have them make it on a budget!

Good Ol' Elizabeth Duke !
Apparently, he was cheaper than Daniel Craig.

WHAT A GREAT TRIBUTE TO BARRY SCOTT FROM THE CILLIT BANG ADVERTS !

[AND THE DIRT IS GONE!]

Taken from the very funny  The Peter Serafinowicz Show , available on DVD !

The Kevin Bishop Show

Kevin Bishop

Recently rumoured to have a third series on the way:

‘A fast-paced sketch show from the team behind Star Stories. Built around Kevin Bishop’s talents for impressions, the show includes celebrity mimicry, archive footage gags, parodies, spoof adverts and one-off skits.’

Featuring Dr Who’s new and rather attractive assistant!

I’m a really big fan of this program, already owning the first series on DVD. It’s not your typical sketch show, there are very few recurring characters and catch phrases. Some of the material, like any sketch show, is a bit hit and miss and chances are you’ll need some basic knowledge of the old (and recent) TV programs that the show parodies.

That said, a lot of the sketches are very well written and very funny!

Check out the 3rd episode here

The HSM parody “British Secondary School Musical” and the Yorkshire version of American Pie – “Steak & Kidney Pie” are pure genius!! I really hope this series gets released onto DVD as well!

Also look out for: ‘Free Daily Mail DVDs’ and Nintendo Wii parodies!

Brilliant!
