Avicii – Levels (ID)

Tim Bergling (A.K.A “Avicii” , “Tom Hangs” and “Tim Berg”) is only 22 years old, yet he’s managed to become one of the best Progressive House producers out there at the moment. You can guarantee any track by him will have uplifting and catchy melodies, and this song is no exception. Like last year’s Bromance , I think Levels (ID) will need to be turned into a full vocal track for it to become a chart success , but it’s already one of my songs of the summer !

Alex Gaudino – I’m In Love (I Wanna Do It)

Also signed to Data Records, the man behind top 10 UK hits Destination Calabria and Watch Out and the #35 song Little Love returns with a new vocal version of the original which Scott Mills has been playing on his Floorfillers show for a while now! I think this song is going to be more popular that the song above as the woman sounds a lot like Rihanna!

What’s this all about?

FACT: A lot of people on Twitter are stupid. Many of these people follow celebrities and try to send them messages. But which celebrity’s fans are most stupid? It’s time to find out.

What do you mean by ‘stupid’?

Stupid Fight can’t go out and administer an intelligence test to each person that’s sending messages to a celebrity. So instead, it estimates based on several stupid indicators. Are they using twenty exclamation marks in a row? Do they endlessly use the abbreviation ‘OMG’? Do they seem incapable of working out where their Shift key is? These indicators have a strong correlation with the message, and its sender, being stupid.

R.I.O – Shine On

R.I.O is a German dance project from the producers Manuel Reuter (Manian) and Yann Pfeiffer (Yanou) who produced DJ Sammy’s #1 song “Heaven” from 2002. They’re more populaly known as the production team behind Cascada !

Sadly only the first series was released onto DVD (in Australia, although it can be easily found on eBay), which is a real shame because there are so many laugh out loud moments!  This BAFTA winning show featured mostly short sketches with quick-fire gags, which is very much the comic stand up style that both Lee and Tim perform.

I’m a really big fan of this program, already owning the first series on DVD. It’s not your typical sketch show, there are very few recurring characters and catch phrases. Some of the material, like any sketch show, is a bit hit and miss and chances are you’ll need some basic knowledge of the old (and recent) TV programs that the show parodies.

That said, a lot of the sketches are very well written and very funny!

The HSM parody “British Secondary School Musical” and the Yorkshire version of American Pie – “Steak & Kidney Pie” are pure genius!! I really hope this series gets released onto DVD as well!

Also look out for: ‘Free Daily Mail DVDs’ and Nintendo Wii parodies!

These were the days when very few “dance” songs came with cheap and nasty videos, featuring semi naked women doing suggestive dancing..

Interesting video, beautiful lyrics.

I want to bring those days back.

This is one of my favourite remixes out there at the moment. Below is only a preview, which seems to have been ripped from a set, but you can easily find the full length version on YouTube !

This remix seems to be something very unlike Tiesto’s normal style. It’s a nifty little trancey/electro number, which isn’t as “in your face” as some of this recent material (like his single featuring Sneaky Sound System). Give it a play, you might like it !

Hard Trance Bootlegs 2009

I’ve recently started to get into the “hard trance” genre thanks to listening to a couple of hardcore producer “Technikore” ‘s tracks under his “Technikal” alias.

Quite a few of the tracks on this album are either by, or remixed by him, and overall it’s been a great buy (cost me £4.99 from CDWOW).

This is the third in the series of “Bootleg” albums, meaning albums of cover versions in the hard trance style.  I must be honest and admit I didn’t recognise all of the songs on there, however most people should recognise tracks 1,2,7,8,19 and 23 on CD 1. The second CD (Masif DJs Mix) seems to contain more cover versions and remixes of “dance” songs, such as Commander Tom – Attention! , Faithless – God Is a DJ and N-Trance – Set You Free.

As a fan of the more uplifting side of hard trance and hard dance, I much preferred CD 2. That’s not to say the first disc is in anyway disappointing, but I think some of the material verged on “hardstyle” , which I’m not a fan of.

As I was writing this, I discovered that there’s going to be a Volume 4 released, which I’m now very excited about !
